Michelle is an associate with bureau Brandeis. She specializes in corporate litigation. Her professional focus is on legal disputes between (partners of) corporations, joint ventures and other partnerships. Michelle is experienced in shareholder disputes, disputes with banks, directors’ and officers’ liability, Enterprise Chamber proceedings and takeover disputes. She often represents her clients in commercial disputes.
Michelle studied Dutch private law (masters in private law and in corporate and commercial law) at the University of Maastricht. During her time at university she worked as a paralegal for a law firm and also worked for the district court in Maastricht as external court clerk.
She graduated in 2008. Subsequently, Michelle started her career with AKD, where she obtained a broad experience in the area of corporate law. In 2012 she started working for Spigt Litigators where she continued to focus on corporate litigation.

Regularly assists green energy suppliers by reviewing commercial contracts and resolving disputes relating to wind and solar energy projects.
Involved in various collective actions. For example, she represents The PrivacyCollective in the collective action against the software companies Oracle and Salesforce.
Represented a corporate client of Van Lanschot Bankiers N.V. regarding a dispute regarding the transfer of corporate real estate loans to non-banks. See, amongst others, the judgments of the District Court of Amsterdam of 7 August 2019 and of 29 May 2019.
Represent Nigerian and Lebanese companies in NAI arbitration following the termination of an agreement for the transit of grain for the brewing of beer.
Involved in NAI arbitration between international parties active in the online gaming industry.
Advising parties on mass claims against banks following the Libor fraud.
Assisting various parties in proceedings before the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal, including the Taiwanese financial conglomerate FUBON in the context of a rights issue by Delta Lloyd.
Representing a Dutch company in liability proceedings against its former director.
Assisting an investor in immovable property in interim relief proceedings relating to a dispute concerning the performance of a loan agreement.
Provide legal assistance to hedge funds around their investments in Dutch stock exchange funds in situations that have not become public.
